  Maa Tara Chandi Temple   is a   Hindu temple   dedicated to Maa   Shakti   or Maa   Durga , located in   Sasaram, Bihar , India. It is one of the 51   Shakti Peetha . [1] [2] [3] History [ edit ] Maa Tarachandi  Shakti Peetha , also called Maa Tarachandi, is the oldest and one of the most sacred temples of  Sasaram . It is regarded as one of the 51 Siddha  Shakti  Pithas in India. According to Pauranic legends, the "right eye" (Netra) of the corpse of  Sati  had fallen here when it was chopped off by Lord  Vishnu  with his " Sudarshan Chakra ". The ancient temple, originally called Maa Sati, is believed to be the abode of the goddess Durga Maa Tara Chandi. Rohtas Fort, India

  Location [ edit ] Rohtasgarh is situated on the upper course of the river Son, 24° 57′ N, 84° 2′E. It takes around two hours from  Sasaram  to reach the foot of the hill over which is the Rohtas fort. It can be reached easily from the  Dehri  town, which has very good road network. One can also easily reach Rohtas fort via Akbarpur. The fort is situated at about 1500 feet above sea level. The 2000 old limestone steps were probably meant for elephants. For the visitor, they are exhausting climb of an hour and a half. At the end of the climb, one reaches the boundary wall of the fort. A dilapidated gate with a cupola can be seen there, which is the first of many gates provided for well-guarded entrances to the fort. From here one has to walk another mile or so before the ruins of Rohtas can be seen

Tomb of Sher Shah Suri

The  tomb of Sher Shah Suri  is a  mausoleum  located in  Sasaram , in the Indian state of  Bihar . [1]   Sher Shah Suri , who was the founder of the  Sur Empire , commissioned the tomb for himself. It was completed on 16 August 1545, about three months after his death. It is situated on a square plinth in the middle of an artificial lake, accessible by a  causeway . The tomb, made out of sandstone, was originally painted in bright colours and decorated with  glazed  tiles. It is a three-storied octagonal building, surmounted by a large dome.  Chhatris  are located on each edge of the second and third stories. A  veranda  runs along the circumference of the tomb, with each side having three arched openings. Arched windows, embellished with  latticed screens  serve to illuminate the interior.
